Diva Faustina Senior. Died AD 140/1. Æ Sestertius (32.5mm, 28.30 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, AD 140-141. Veiled and draped bust right, wearing hair bound in pearls on top of her head / Faustina, holding grain ears and torch, seated left atop a triumphal chariot drawn left by two elephants with mahouts. RIC III 1140 (Pius); Beckmann dies daf12/EC6 (unlisted die combination); Banti 72 (same rev. die as illustration). Dark green, granular surfaces, pitting and an area of smoothing on the reverse.
