The Triumvirs. Octavian. Autumn 30-summer 29 BC. AR Denarius (20mm, 3.64 g, 8h). Uncertain mint in Italy (Rome?). Bare head right / Octavian’s Actian arch (arcus Octaviani), showing a single span surmounted by Octavian in facing triumphal quadriga; IMP • CAESAR on the architrave. CRI 422; RIC I 267; RSC 123; Elkins, Monuments Figure 44. Toned, flan flaw on obverse, light porosity, reverse struck slightly off center. Near VF. An important achitectural reverse, depicting Octavian’s Actian Arch, which was demolished about a decade after it was built.
