BITHYNIA, Apamea. Gallienus. AD 253-268. Æ (28mm, 9.85 g, 7h). Radiate and cuirassed bust left, right hand raised and holding scepter over left shoulder; gorgoneion on breastplate / Tyche standing facing, head left, holding rudder and cornucopia. RG 116; RPC X Online 59921. Green patina, minor deposits, a few delaminations on obverse. Near VF. Very rare. This type has seven recorded examples in RPC and shares its obverse die with one other type, known from only one specimen. |
