Crowned facing figure of Leo III, wearing loros, holding akakia and cruciform scepter / Large M, cross above; A/N/N/O - X/X (immobilized date) across field; A//CON. DOC – (but now in DOC since publication); MIB 24 var. (unlisted officina); SB 1513A var. (same). Dark brown surfaces, some weakness and roughness, some gentle smoothing. Good VF. An excellent example of this very difficult and rare issue. Superior to the seven examples in CoinArchives.
