The Triumvirs. Mark Antony and Octavian. Spring-early summer 41 BC. Fourrée Denarius (17.5mm, 2.80 g, 8h). Imitating an official issue of the Ephesus mint; M. Barbatius Pollio, quaestor pro praetore. Bare head of Mark Antony right / Bare head of Octavian right, with slight beard. Cf. Crawford 517/2; cf. CRI 243; cf. Sydenham 1181; cf. RSC 8a; cf. RBW 1798 (all references for official issue). Toned, roughness and scratches, traces of find patina, breaks in plating revealing core. Good VF.
