MACEDON, Republican period. First Meris. Circa 174/3-2nd half of 2nd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 17.09 g, 9h). Amphipolis mint. Struck circa 149/8-2nd half of 2nd century BC. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club; monogram above; all within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Prokopov, Silver, Group III, 733 (O159/R591, this coin); HGC 3, 1103. Iridescent red and blue toning, lamination flaw and scratch on reverse. Near EF.
