ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of All England. Cnut. 1016-1035. AR Penny (19mm, 1.10 g, 4h). Pointed Helmet type (BMC xiv, Hild. G). Lincoln mint; Godwine, moneyer. Struck circa 1023-1030. Bust left, wearing pointed helmet; trefoil-tipped scepter before / + GODPINE ON LINE ·, voided short cross, limbs united at base by two concentric circles with pellet in center; in each angle, broken annulet enclosing pellet. Mossop pl. XLIII, 21 (dies E/h); North 787; SCBC 1158. Light iridescent toning. Near EF.
