France. Circa AD 1420. Leaf (3.35”x4.33”). Medieval Book of Hours. Illuminated leaf containing Psalms 148: 13a-14 and 149: 1-8b in the Vulgate. With attractive floral illumination around at border and with decoration around capital letters and interspersed throughout the text. From a prayer book worthy of someone of substantial means for the time. Attractive gold, blue, red, green, and white illumination. Good ink, clear and readable. Slight browning, tiny tears, and one tiny hole at edge. Small old price and code penciled in at lower margin. VF. A nice cohesive leaf of Psalms.
