Christ Pantokrator enthroned facing; sigla: + | – / Half-length facing figures of John, wearing crown and loros, holding akakia, and the Theotokos, together holding long patriarchal cross between them. DOC (2a); SB 2072. Toned with some luster, spots of weakness, a few scratches. Near EF. John’s transitional issues are significantly less commonly encountered than his more prevalent second coinage.
