EARLY SKYTHIANS. Anonymous. Late 2nd-early 1st century BC. AR Drachm (16mm, 2.25 g, 8h). Imitating an Aï Khanoum issue of Antiochos I. Bare head right / Horned and bridled horse's head right, with braided, flame-like forelock; trace of Δ in circle to left of neck. Senior –, but cf. A.14-15 (for other Seleukid imitations); cf. SC 431.3; cf. SMAK A1DH-2–3 (both refs for prototype). Toned, deposits, encrustation, scratches, obverse struck off center with worn die. VF.
