Mn. Fonteius C.f. 85 BC. AR Denarius (21mm, 4.06 g, 11h). Rome mint. Laureate head of Vejovis (or Apollo) right; monogram below chin, thunderbolt below neck / Infant winged Genius (or Cupid) seated on goat standing right; pilei of the Dioscuri above, thyrsus with fillet in exergue; all within laurel wreath. Crawford 353/1a; Sydenham 724; Fonteia 9; RBW 1350. Lovely iridescent toning, light scratch under tone. Good VF. A wonderful full weight specimen struck on a broad flan.
