The letter sad on the obverse has been plausibly explained as the first letter of the name of Sa‘id b. Makhlad. His title Dhu‘l-Wizaratayn, ‘Holder of the Two Vizirates’, appears on dinars struck at a number of mints between Ah 270-272.
