Umayyad/‘Abbasid. Glass weight (19.5mm, 2.28 g). Dark bottle green glass. Undated. ‘Am[... / [unread letters]. Pressed onto a piece of glass much smaller than the stamp, hence legends largely off flan. Good VF, minor chips. Rare.

It is difficult to read the second line of this weight as Arabic. Balog (Umayyad, ‘Abbasid and Tulunid Glass Weights and Vessel Stamps, 808) describes a very rare glass weight on which the denomination is expressed in Coptic numerals, and it has been tentatively suggested that the second line of this piece might be something similar.
