Solidly bound in contemporary vellum with remnants of black morocco title label to spine, boards rubbed with some wear, contents toned with occasional ink annotations, some of the folding plates reinforced with tape. The first volume of Count Wiczay’s (1731-1831) exhaustive collection of ancient Greek and Roman coins. One of the most important private collections of its day, it was later sold into the trade making the extensive catalogue still highly useful for provenance research
