Terracotta amphora. Cyprus, circa 9th-8th centuries BC. (25 cm high and wide). Having a tear-shaped body, terminating in small flat foot, wide neck, and extended lip. There are small handles on each side of the body. Three horizontal black bands are painted around the body, one in the lower portion, a second just above the handles, and a third at the base of the neck. Some marks, scratches, small chip under lip, earthen deposits. Otherwise good condition. |
