ATTICA, Athens. Circa 479/8-475 BC. AR Tetradrachm (23mm, 17.15 g, 7h). Head of Athena right, with frontal eye, wearing earring, necklace, and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a spiral palmette on the bowl / Owl standing right, head facing, with spread tail feathers; olive spray and crescent to left, AΘE to right; all within incuse square. Starr Group I, unlisted dies (similar to no. 6); Svoronos, Monnaies, pl. 8, 1; HGC 4, 1592. Old cabinet tone, a little off center (as usual), some light scratches under tone, test cut on obverse. Good VF. Very Rare Group I tetradrachm.
