BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 425-350 BC. Electrotype “Nomos” (21.5mm, 8.25 g, 5h). British Museum electrotype by Robert Ready (marked RR on edge). Herakles seated left on rocky outcropping, holding branch and club; altar to left, bow and bow case to right, pair of fish in exergue / Tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet, tied with illet; to left, Apollo Pythios taking aim at a coiled python to right. Head, Guide, Period III.C., 20; cf. GPCG pl. 14, 18 = BM no. RPK,p271A.8 (for prototype). Toned. As made.
