Stone Seal. Sassanian Empire. 224 BC - 651 CE. (27 mm.) Quartzite. An O type stamp seal with round embellishments across back and a central hole for suspension. On the face, a rooster faces left, his tail held high and his waddle hanging low before his chin. Behind, a crescent moon. To left, an inscription in Pahlavi. Göbl 29a. An outstanding example of type.
