GREEK. Levant & the Near East. AR Drachms of Seleukid Kings of Syria. Includes: Antiochos I // Seleukos II // Antiochos III (5) // Antiochos IV (8) // Seleukos IV // Antiochos V // Alexander I (2) // Demetrios I (10) // Demetrios II (2) // Antiochos VIII. Most of the earlier kings are Ekbatana issues. Lot also includes an extremely rare Alexander III of Macedon drachm from Marathos mint (Houghton 940, recently reattributed; see Triton IX, 800), and an obol of Demetrios I. All coins attributed and illustrated in Coins of the Seleucid Empire from the Collection of Arthur Houghton (New York, 1983). Fine to VF condition. LOT SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS. 34 coins in lot.
