Vespasian. AD 69-79. AR Denarius (3.37 g, 7h). Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck AD 71. IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG TR P, laureate head right / IVDAEA DEVIC[TA], draped Jewess standing left, head slightly bowed, hands tied in front of her; behind, palm-tree bearing fruit. RIC II 289; Lyon 12 (unlisted dies); Hendin 770; RSC 243; BMCRE 388; BN 297. Good VF, deep gray toning, two shallow edge test cuts. Extremely rare. One of the finer known examples.
