Julius Caesar. 47-46 BC. AR Denarius (3.79 g, 6h). Military mint traveling with Caesar in North Africa. Diademed head of Venus right, wearing necklace, hair in knot, falling in two locks / CAESAR, Aeneas advancing left, facing front, holding palladium in right hand and bearing Anchises on his left shoulder. Crawford 458/1; CRI 55; Sydenham 1013; Kestner 3577-3579; BMCRR East 31; RSC 12. Good VF, handsome gray toning, traces of die rust on the obverse.
