KINGS of AXUM (Aksum). Ezanas. Circa 300-350 AD. AV 17mm (1.67 g, 12h). After conversion to Christianity, circa 330-350 AD. Crowned bust right, holding spear, flanked by two grain ears; pellet in crescent above / Draped bust right, wearing headcloth and holding fly-whisk, flanked by two grain ears. Munro-Hay Type 49; cf. BMC Aksum 75. Good VF, irregular flan.

The pellet in crescent motif above the obverse bust is the symbol of the pre-Christian Axumite kings.
