ARABIA, Southeast (Macai). Abi'el. 1st century BC - 1st century AD. BI Drachm (4.26 g, 6h). Mleiha mint. Imitating Alexander III of Macedon. Degraded head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Figure seated left, right arm extended, holding staff in left hand; on right arm, horse standing right; date-palm and tri-fluked anchor in left field, "Abi'el" in blundered Aramaic in outer right field, pellet below throne; three pellets behind figure. Potts, Supplement, Class XLIV, 310-311 var. (four pellets behind figure). Good VF, toned. Very rare. ($300)
