BOIOTIA, Thebes. Circa 480-460 BC. AR Drachm (6.00 g). Boiotian shield / Square incuse with anticlockwise mill-sail pattern; diagonal archaic Q in centre. SNG Cop. 250. Good VF, even grey tone. Rare denomination. ($500)

Ex G. Hirsch 115 (6 April 1979), lot 206.

The "Theta in a mill-sail" drachms of Thebes seem to be much rarer than the corresponding staters.
