BOIOTIA, Thebes. 525-480 BC. Lot of two AR Hemidrachms. Both coins: Boiotian shield / Square incuse with clockwise mill-sail pattern. Traité I 1311, pl. LXI, 3; Pozzi 1404 = Pozzi (Boutin) 3232. Varieties: (a) 2.91 g. Shield partly flattened by ancient knock (or filing?) // (b) 2.51 g. On obverse, small, cone-like countermark (probably an ivy leaf partly struck and/or worn) in a square incuse. Both coins Fine. Two (2) coins in lot. ($200)
