Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Caracalla standing left, sacrificing over altar in front of tetrastyle temple; to right, togate figure standing left; to left, Aesculapius standing right, holding wand, a small child stands right behind him, holding wand. RIC IV 270a; BMCRE 148; Cohen 317. Fine, ex jewelry, two holes, slight wave to flan. Rare. ($1000)

The two holes are a signature characteristic of Roman aurei that circulated in India and were employed there for decorative purposes.
