PISIDIA, Sagalassus. Philip II.. 247-249 AD. Æ 35mm (24.98 gm, 1h). Homonoia with Sparta. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / CAGALACCEWN L-AKEDAIMWN, OMONOI/A in exergue, Tyche of Sagalassus and Heros Lakedaimon standing left; Tyche holding phiale and cornucopiae; Heros holding phiale and spear. Franke & Nollé Type I; SNG France -; SNG Copenhagen -; Lindgren III 720 (this coin). VF, dark olive patina with areas of red, light smoothing, traces of silvering on obverse. Extremely rare. ($500)

This is the only recorded Alliance issue between Sagalassus and Lacedaemon. A second specimen appeared in A.G. van der Dussen 24 (2 June 1995), lot 3252, from the same reverse die.
