DIVA MARCIANA, sister of Trajan. Died 112/4 AD. Æ Sestertius (28.94 gm, 8h). Struck circa 112 AD. DIVA AVGVSTA MARCIANA, draped bust right, hair elaborately dressed over brow, above which is a diadem, braided and bound up at the back / CONSECRATIO, S C in exergue, eagle standing left, head turned right, with wings displayed. RIC II 748 (Trajan); Strack 443; Banti 1; BMCRE 1083 (Trajan); Cohen 6. Good VF, mottled dark green and yellow-brown patina with traces of red, light scratch in obverse field above brow. Boldly struck obverse with a strong portrait. Very rare. ($15,000)
