MACEDON, Chalkidian League. 432-348 BC. AR Tetradrachm (14.39 gm, 12h). Olynthos mint. Struck circa 392-383 BC. Laureate head of Apollo left with long hair / C-A-L-KID-EWN, kithara. Robinson & Clement Group L, - (A40/ P49); cf. AMNG III 7; SNG ANS 479 (same obverse die). Good VF, lightly toned. Struck with reverse die of fine style. Unpublished die link between Robinson & Clement Groups K and L. ($2000)

The reverse die used to strike this coin belongs to Robinson & Clement Group K. While rare, other examples of die links between different series are known (see, e.g., Robinson & Clement Group N, 86, which uses a reverse die from Group M).
