SELEUKID KINGS of SYRIA. Antiochos III (the Great). 223-187 BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.73 gm). Susa mint. Struck during second reign at Susa, 220-187 BC. Diademed head right, with small horn / Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and resting hand on bow; monograms in outer left and right fields. SC 1214.2; Le Rider, Suse 38; cf. SNG Spaer 764. VF, cleaned and a bit bright.

The small horn on the head of Antiochos that makes its appearance on this and other concurrent issues commemorates Antiochos' suppression of the usurper Molon in Susa (see SC pg. 449).
