Crowned facing Persian style bust, cross on crown; star in left field, crescent in right / Large I B, cross potent on globe; ALEX. DOC II 191; MIB III 202b; SB 855. VF, brown and green patina.

This interesting bronze coin was struck during the Sasanian occupation of Egypt, 618-628, and pays homage to the Sasanian king by its use of a Persian style portrait on the obverse.
