Crowned monogram set on clouds / Hand holding sword reaching from the clouds, cutting off outstreched hand to right reaching for Danish crown above. Schou 34; Hede 100A; Bruun 6285 (this coin); Davenport 3576; KM 221. Old cabinet toning. In NGC encapsulation 8223208-022, graded AU 58. A stunning example with wonderful strike and eye appeal.

On 11 February 1659, the Danish repelled an attack on Copenhagen by the Swedes. The reverse imagery on this coin colorfully illustrates the result of the battle, in which the Danish successfully held off the Swedish attempt to take the Danish crown.
