Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (22mm, 3.83 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1325-1328. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; sigla: triple pellets above K | triple pellets above X / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus and Michael kneeling to left and right, respectively. Cf. DOC 502; PCPC 185 (sigla 13-14); SB 2461. Toned, double strike on reverse, clipped. VF.
