Antoninus Pius. AD 138-161. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.49 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 141-143. Laureate head right / Aequitas standing left, holding scales and
pertica. RIC III 61; RSC 14. Superb EF, lightly toned.
The basic attributes of Aequitas are scales and the measuring rod, called a pertica. The Roman Imperial propaganda of this reverse type conveys the message that financial issues are being handled responsibly and fairly.
