UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Eastern Europe. Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Mid 1st-mid 3rd century AD. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.64 g, 6h). Imitating a Rome mint denarius of Diva Faustina Senior. Struck after AD 141. (retrograde D)IVΛ ΛVSIИΛ, draped bust right, with hair bound in pearls / PVDI CITIA, Pudicitia, veiled and draped, standing left, drawing out robe in front of face and raising hem of skirt. Cf. RIC III 371 ([Pius] for obv. protoype with Diva Faustina Senior) and 507 ([Pius] for protoype with Faustina Junior); Segeev –. VF, touch of porosity. An unsual hybrid, combining elements of both the Faustinas.
