GLM (uncertain city in Kirman) mint. Dated RY? 3[...] (Struck circa 662-671). Crowned bust right / Fire altar with ribbons and attendants; star and crescent flanking flames; pellet to left of uppermost star-in-crescent. SNS I –; Walker, Arab-Sasanian –; cf. SNS Schaaf 712 (Yazdgerd III; for type); cf. Tyler-Smith 101-103 (same). VF, die breaks on obverse and reverse. Very rare.


M.I. Mochiri ("Garmkirman: a Sasanian and early Islamic mint in Kirman Province," NumChron 1985, pp. 109-22) believed that the issues of Yazdgard with pellets in the outer rim were likely struck during the early Islamic period.
