THESSALY, Methylion. 4th century BC. AR Trihemiobol (11.5mm, 1.09 g, 12h). Male head left, wearing tainia; EY[P?] below / [ΜΕΘ]ΥΛΙ-[ΕΩΝ], Hera seated right on throne, holding scepter; behind, cow standing right. Heyman 2 var. (no letters on obv.); BCD Thessaly 464 var. (same); HGC 4, 688 var. (same). Fine, toned, light porosity. Very rare.

From the BCD Collection.

These obverse letters are known on issues of Heyman 3 (BCD 466). All of the published examples of the present issue are quite worn, and it is likely that they all have these letters under the portrait.
