Domitian. AD 81-96. Æ As (27mm, 9.33 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa AD 82. IMP CAES D[IVI VESP] F DO[MITIAN AVG P M], laureate head right / S C across field, cornucopia. Cf. RIC II 110, 113/122 (for obv./rev.). Fine, green patina, areas of roughness and smoothing. Extremely rare As/Semis Mule.
Struck on an As flan, this As obverse was wrongly paired with a Semis reverse die. While mules are not so rare, mules with dies from two different denominations are extremely rare.
