Moneyer issues of Imperatorial Rome. Petillius Capitolinus. 41 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.77 g, 10h). Rome mint. Eagle with wings spread standing facing on thunderbolt, head right / Temple of Jupiter Capitolinus: richly decorated hexastyle temple with three garlands hanging between columns; the pediment ornamented with armed figures; in the tympanum is a seated figure of Jupiter between two other figures. Crawford 487/2a; CRI 174; Sydenham 1150; Petillia 2; Type as RBW 1704. VF, handsome, old cabinet toning, weakly struck in a couple of areas.
