CAROLVS ◊ D ◊ G ◊ MAG ◊ BRITAN ◊ FRAN ◊ ET ◊ HIB ◊ REX ◊ (small thistle and horizontal B), crowned and armored half-length bust right, holding scepter and orb; quadrate stops / HIS ◊ PRÆSVM ◊ VT ◊ PROSIM, crowned coat-of-arms; crowned C R above quadrate stop across fields; quadrate stops. Burns 3 (fig. 1032 – same obv. die); SCBI 35 (Ashmolean & Hunterian), 1392-6 (same obv. die); SCBC 5531. Near EF, lightly toned.
