CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 450 BC. AR Nomos (20.5mm, 8.13 g, 6h). Phalanthos riding dolphin right; cockle shell below / Head of young female right. Fischer-Bossert Group 9, 132c (V69/R91) = C.M. Kraay & C.E. King, “A mid-fifth century hoard from South Italy” in SNR 66 (1987), 71 (this coin, illustrated); Vlasto 152 (same obv. die); HN Italy 838. VF, toned, slightly off center, minor flaw in field on obverse. Very rare.
