GAUL, Northeast. Remi. Circa 50-30 BC. Fourrée Unit (14.5mm, 0.99 g, 9h). Class IV. Head left; [CA]LEDV to left / Horse running left; CALEDV above, pellet-in-annulet below. For prototype, cf. Depeyrot, NC VII, 40; D&T –. VF, toned, test cut on edge exposing core. Extremely rare, only one coin known of Class IV (in Berlin).

Ex CGB Inventory bga_310517.

As the only published example, in Berlin, is also very light (1.17 grams, with the denomination theoretically weighing at 1.80 grams), one wonders whether all coins of Class IV are actually fourrées, since the type also seems to be a hybrid of Class I obverse with Class III reverse.
