Laureate head of Saturn right; S (mark of value) behind / Prow of galley right, with three almost parallel lines at keel; S (mark of value) above. Crawford 41/6e; Sydenham –; Type as RBW 123; McCabe Group A2, A2.Sm.2 (this coin–illustrated on p. 128); Unpublished overstrike on Crawford 41/7b (triens). VF, dark green patina, some roughness. Extremely rare.

41/6e struck bronze post-semilibral semis. McCabe (Essays Russo, 2013) pp. 126-129 type A2, A2.Sm.2 (this coin illustrated), overstruck on a 41/7b triens. This semis over triens overstrike is not listed in Crawford RRC Table XVIII. Cf Russo (Essays Hersh, 1998) pp.139-140, obverse die 9 with new reverse die. Extremely rare. [A. McCabe]
