New Kingdom. Circa 1550-1070 BC. Steatite scarab with traces of green glaze (15x11mm). Face engraved with cryptographic inscription. It is not entirely clear, as it is arranged to make a balanced composition, but might be read as “inquire into / open justice and goodness everyday.” Pierced. Nicely preserved. An interesting piece.
