Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; barred IC XC across field / Facing bust of Theodora, wearing saccos, loros, and crown with pendilia, and holding globus cruciger and jeweled scepter. Cf. SB 1838 (for prototype). VF.
A very unusual style, this example was struck as a scyphate as opposed to the normal shape of the prototype. This fabric may indicate an imitation meant to circulate locally where it would remain undetected rather than a specimen meant to circulate in parts of the empire more likely to recognize its style
