PERSIA, Alexandrine Empire. Mazaios. Satrap of Babylon, circa 331-328 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 17.21 g, 2h). Baaltars seated left, his torso facing, holding lotus-tipped scepter in extended right hand, left hand holding chlamys at his waist; B’LTRZ (in Aramaic) to right / Lion walking left on ground; MZDY (in Aramaic) above, uncertain symbol or letter on ground line. Nicolet-Pierre M1 = Babelon 282 = Traité II 752 = de Luynes 2871; Sunrise 158 (this coin). VF, toned, a bit off center, a couple tiny repairs. Very rare.
