(rose) IACOBVS · D’ · G’ · MAG’ · BRIT’ · FRAN’ · ET · HIB’ · REX ·, half-length facing bust of James, armored and holding sword in right hand, Royal shield on left arm, in ship, adorned with rose, sailing left; I on flag set on forecastle / (rose) · A · DNO’ · FACTVM · EST · ISTVD · ET · EST · MIRABILE ·, floriated cross with lis at end of each limb and rose on sun in center; in angles. crowned lion passant left; all within tressure of eight arches with trefoils in spandrels. Schneider 11 (same dies); North 2080; SCBC 2614. Good VF, toned. Very rare and among the finest known.
