THESSALY, Peirasia. Circa 320/10-250/00 BC. Æ Chalkous (11mm, 1.35 g, 12h). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet / [Π]EIPAΣI[E–ΩN], Athena Itonia striding right, brandishing spear in right hand, shield on left arm. Pendleton BS1a (O1/R1), pl. 4, 1 (this coin); BCD Thessaly II 507. VF, green patina. Extremely rare, one of only two known (both from the BCD Collection).

In her 2008 study, Pendleton knew of only two such specimens, each from a different pair of dies. The other known specimen, offered in BCD Thessaly II, fetched $1200.
