2nd Intermediate Period. Circa 1650-1550 BC. Steatite scarab (20x14mm). Back richly decorated with five lotus flowers. Base engraved with a-n-r pattern flanked by symmetrical Crowns of Lower Egypt and Eyes of Ra; above, Horus falcon with spread wings. Small chip at top edge, once glazed, pierced for mounting. A pleasing, deeply engraved specimen.
