ANGLO-SAXON, Kings of All England. Æthelred II. 978-1016. AR Penny (19mm, 1.27 g, 11h). Scandinavian imitation of Long Cross type. Struck after 997. + EÐELRED REX Λ(NG)L•, draped bust left; pellet behind neck / + OÐGRIM MΘ EOFR, voided long cross, with pellet at center and triple-crescent ends. Cf. Malmer Chain 105, dies 122/1179. Good VF, toned.
